Pumpkins & Potions

A spooky season is best celebrated with our first annual Pumpkins and Potions gathering, it was a wonderful night of  treats, Bloody Rumkin coctails, and plenty of pumpkin carving!

DIY decor- Glitter skulls in an apothecary nested in Spansh Moss- wonderfully spooky!
This party had mostly treats over tricks, with Mummified Cupcakes, Merangue Sweet Bone Cookies, Caramel Apples, and a variety of festive sugar cookies.

Ordinary Pumpkins...
...Come to life!

Witchcraft

Here is a peek at my witchcraft tags I created for spirited decor!  I used a variety of textured papers, stickers and jewels to complete my magical witches!

Perfectly Painted Pumpkins

http://blog.tinyprints.com/general-information/decor-delights-fall-decorating-ideas/

Today is the first day that I feel Fall weather coming on!  After our extreme summer here in the heartland, the cooler weather instantly makes me excited for all fall festivities!  Our wonderful neighborhood association is putting on an outdoor Halloween decorating contest for all of the houses in our neighborhood- this has inspired me to decorate from the inside out!
I have been drawn to all fabulously festive photos online- as this one is shown above.
I will be sharing my personal Halloween decor as it progresses!
I just love the whimsy of these striking pumpkins and gourds! I hope you love them as well!

Cheers to Chickens!

I have been so obsessed with urban chicken coops and organic gardening- I am hoping to be able to have a beautiful chicken coop in our ample backyard and a few wonderful chickens to lay organic eggs!  I love the variety of egg colors you can get from different chickens!  Beautiful blues, greens, peach, cream, and browns.  Just imagine going out to your backyard and picking up some fresh eggs from your sweet urban chickens. Here is my favorite chicken coop from heatherbullard.com

Springing Up...

This Spring is my first time ever to plant bulbs- I am so excited that I haven't killed them...yet.
My handy hubby, Tommy, built me a temporary planting box for my bulbs until I get my beds complete in mid April.
Here are a few pictures of my newly sprung flowers!
I love Spring and I am so excited to have beautiful gardens!!

My Peonies

Extreme Gardening Gnome

I have been working on putting in my new flower beds for at least three weekends, and now with the help of a handy rototiller, an axe, a trusty shovel, and a very weary wheelbarrow- I have prepped my beds for our rock my handy hubby and I will be installing to create beautiful raised flower beds.  I have been handling the excavation of these beds, which probably has appeared as an amature comedy routine if my neighbors had checked on what all the noise was in my backyard.  Thank goodness for our stockade fence.
What Tommy used to call the "awkward hole in our backyard"...is finally shaping up!
 My growing dirt mound!
 Our future Hydrangea bed.
Here is my little Fuzzy Garden Gnome- Marley, he is a very hard worker!
...okay, maybe a sufficient supervisor.
